I'm so happy to say that I turned 7wks old today!! I weighed in this morning at 3lb 5.4oz! That's almost a full 3lbs more than when I was born!! (I was only 5.78oz when Foster Mom took me into her care).
I have a consult scheduled at University of Pennsylvania on April 29th. Dr John Lewis is so nice....and Foster Mom told me that he is an awesome Doctor! He has tons of experience with correcting animals who were born just like me! We are so grateful to have him on our side. He is confident and determined to make me healthy....just like Foster Mom! She says that he is gonna be great to add to our team!
I still can't get over this attention that I'm getting! I'm just so grateful to all of you. Your generosity and support has been unmatched by anything that Foster Mom has ever seen....it's just incredible. I love that I am able to make so many people (from all over the world) come together.....and smile!! The love is amazing.
Foster Mom has been working around the clock with my feedings and care- so she wanted to apologize that her emails/thank you letters have gotten backed up! We are just so grateful and want all of you to know that! We appreciate each and every one of you...and all of your comments/emails/kind words. Foster Mom doesn't ever want any of you to feel as though you aren't a part of our family. All of this love and support is a huge part in what is bringing so much good energy to my environment and helping me to succeed!
So this week- I dedicate my Birthday wishes to all of you!! thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! xoxoxox I feel that even though I have so many odds against me....I am the luckiest puppy in the world!
I just love this little guy. He makes me smile everytime I see him. God bless you for taking such good care of him.
ReplyDeleteFoster mom should be forever mom :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Their's is a bond that should never be separated. :)
DeleteSeconded!
DeleteI agree, they belong together
DeleteI'm one of the thousands around the world that is rooting for little Lentil to thrive and live a long and happy life. And I'm one of many who hopes that the decision of whether Lentil needs to separate from his mom is deferred until next year ... and that it isn't a foregone conclusion that he'll leave. I volunteer with a local animal rescue and do cat adoptions. I believe that each life is valuable, and that each animal has different needs. Mom and her team are devoted to getting Lentil to enjoy each day to its fullest and to being as healthy as possible for as long as possible. That is no small thing. Neither is publicly sharing his life to educate and inspire others. There are many good animals in need of good homes in local rescues and animal shelters. Some may have special needs, and hopefully Lentil has helped someone reconsider shying away from a special needs animal b/c it is "too much trouble". It is work, but the most rewarding sort of work there is. Love you Lentil - keep growing big and strong, and stay happy!
ReplyDeleteYour updates are the sunshine in my day, thank you for sharing your little Lentil Bean with us, thank you very much for all you do!
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought that a tiny puppy with a cleft palate would have filled so many hearts with so much joy in just a few short weeks? It's not just a story about a medically challenged puppy though, it also about his wonderful "mommy", and I say that without the "foster" before it, because we all know it was a mommy that was there for Lentil from the time he was a few hours old, feeding him through a tube and taking care of his every needs to get him healthy and old enough to have the surgeries he needs to live a happy and full life. As a mommy myself, I know without a doubt, that only a mommy with an enormous amount of love in her heart for her baby does that without reservations. God has blessed you both, you are both exactly where you are supposed to be. Much continued love to you both.
ReplyDeleteYou r cute boy n God really love you & so do I..

As the mom of 2 Frenchies, I can say their faces are adorable regardless! I also think Foster Mom needs to be Forever Mom. This bond is something that can never be replicated.

Diane, I support that completely!
ReplyDeleteDear Foster Mom, I am a Frenchie mom AND have a cleft lip myself so this is an amazing commitment of love between a beautiful woman and a beautiful little man!
We will pray, pray, pray for a great consult later this month and will watch Lentil Bean's progress.
Thank you for taking care of this miracle!

God bless you! I love this little face! I was born with a bilateral cleft lip/palate thirtysomething years ago and seeing this little man made my whole day so bright. I'm so thankful that there are foster moms out there who are willing to take on a challenge like this sweet spirited little guy. He has a lot of spunk, should serve him well!
ReplyDeleteMuch love and prayers,
